Our Story
Plakario was formed after our founding partners spent years watching great companies fail to get funded because they were too early, too contrarian, or simply not yet legible to the consensus. That experience shaped everything about how we invest.
We raised our seed round of $5 million to prove a thesis: that concentrated conviction at the seed stage, paired with genuine operational support, produces better outcomes for founders and investors alike. We are not trying to be everything to everyone. We are trying to be the right partner for a specific kind of founder at a specific kind of moment.
That moment is the beginning. The messiest, most uncertain, most exciting part of building something new. That is where Plakario lives.

Once a market or technology becomes obvious, the best investment opportunities have usually passed. We train ourselves to be comfortable with ambiguity and willing to commit before the narrative has crystallized, because that is when the asymmetry is greatest.

Diversification is a risk management tool, not an investment strategy. We make a small number of investments each year precisely because we believe that the quality of engagement we can provide is more valuable than the breadth of our portfolio. We would rather go deep with twelve companies than shallow with forty.

Decision Process
We give founders a decision within two weeks of our first meeting. We do not string people along. If we are not the right fit, we say so clearly and try to connect you with investors who are. Our reputation is built on the quality of our no as much as the quality of our yes.
After the Check
We are available every week and we mean it. But we do not micromanage. We show up when you need us for difficult conversations, strategic pivots, and key hires. The rest of the time, we get out of the way and let you build. We have the scars to know what founders actually need from investors.

We have built relationships across enterprise software, fintech, AI, and cybersecurity that translate into customer introductions, key hires, and Series A lead investors.
